Inspiring Stories: William Kamkwamba

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Inspiring Stories: William Kamkwamba

Life presents us all with struggles, but they are not equally difficult.  Some have to overcome more than others, making their accomplishments all the more meaningful. William Kamkwamba faced very difficult circumstances, and was reportedly surrounded by people who discouraged his creative problem solving.  I applaud him for his ingenuity and perseverance. (His accent may be a little difficult to understand at times, but his story still comes across strong and clear.)

Anda Jines MS LCPC offers mental health counseling services in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, in Tinley Park, IL (60477);  near Orland Park, Oak Forest, Orland Hills, Palos Heights, Mokena, and Frankfort.

Sound of Music

This video is a reminder not to forget to have fun every once in a while…  how about every day!  Music and dance are great ways to have fun, whether planned or spontaneous.  When’s the last time you sang or danced or played music?  How about while watching this video?

At first, it seems like a normal day at the train station.  Then a song from The Sound of Music starts playing on the loud speakers.  Suddenly more and more people start dancing, surprising all the passers-by with an unexpected and playful performance.

I know many of you have already seen this, but it doesn’t hurt to see it one more time, especially on a day when you’re feeling down or stressed.
